I think I'm going to keep it. We'll see. There'll probably be more to it than her just eating him for no reason...I'm not sure.

If you plan on keeping it, you can include some backstory as to why she would even consider eating someone, especially her own son. A backstory such as the mother starting to go insane after the death of her husband.

Or maybe a backstory such as - she was hungry.

@JMan, beautiful read. Thank you. Why do you feel the need to repeat you're not gay every 5 posts, though? Are things going badly with DLGGLD? You can talk to me, you know.

@Brandon, that was very Gabriel Garcia Marquez-y. Why is there a wall/who put it there/what does it symbolyze?

Yes, I know, haha. There are many more elements to the story that I haven't really expanded on yet, but I'm hoping it will add a little bit more to it, and it won't seem so much like One Hundred Years of Solitude.

I'm not really sure quite yet. Laughing It's definitely an important part of the story, so it has to be more than just a random wall. I'll be thinking about it. And another thing, by the very end of the story, the wall is gone and the boy goes out into the world. It kind of forced the character to look around himself, and see that there is beauty and adventure in everything, everywhere, and that you don't always have to leave where you are to find it. So when the wall is gone, he can go out and he'll truly appreciate every little detail of life.

If you guys will bear with me changing the thread topic a bit, I just finished reading The Stranger by Camus. While I don't like his style of writing in the least, the moral/philosophical tones and Mersault's worldview are fascinating to say the least.
