Gonna go with Will Oldham, though I'm not exactly mad for either artist. I just think Beck's music is self-aware to the point of almost sounding insincere. He's obviously very talented, but he's a little too knowing and clever for me sometimes. I find a lot of Oldham's stuff to be pretty hit or miss, but when he's good he's very good. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
Oldham is the most important artist to have entered my life since the 90s, bar exactly nobody (even Cat Power), under any monicker you'll find him (Palace Brothers, Palace Music, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, whatev).
That guy more or less single-handedly saved my life after Morrissey let me down.
