It cannot be overstated how important Swell Maps was in the development of what would become lo-fi indie rock in the late 80s and early 90s when indie rock actually had a discernible sound. Their influence hovers all over Pavement's Westing comp (an essential comp of their pre-Slanted & Enchanted days).
Both Jane From Occupied Europe and A Trip to Marineville are vital post-punk that were way ahead of its time in the late 70s. Both still sound fresh & vital today. Jane in particular is the type of album that grows on you and gets better with every single listen, unveiling new things with each spin.
Chill Out is a decent ambient sound collage that tips it cap to Pink Floyd's aural ambience and is fun to dust off occasionally and play. Quite interesting especially as a document of the heady Acid House that was being played at dance clubs in "chill out" rooms in the early 90s. The Orb's stuff is lightyears better though.
Jane.

Jane by a mile. And that is a nautical... _________________ "And can’t you see you’re in on it?
