Coldplay's weakest album with one of the worst songs ever written, but despite that, it still has some gems among the pile like Hurts Like Heaven and Charlie Brown. Everything else isn't that memorable though, even with the singles that came from the album. I'm glad they rectified this in Ghost Stories.

Quite possibly the group's most maligned album. Personally, I think it's fine. Mylo Xyloto is a bit of a failed experiment that is ultimately less than the sum of its parts. Still, there are some great highlights.

Track picks
2. Hurts Like Heaven
4. Charlie Brown
8. Major Minus
9. U.F.O.

This is the lowpoint of Coldplay's career to date. In hindsight, maybe they shouldn't have released this album as there just wasn't enough decent quality tracks on show here and most of the material is pretty poor. The best tracks such as Hurts Like Heaven and Charlie Brown could have made a good EP or something. If you've never heard any Coldplay albums before, don't start with this one. Leave it to last Wink

Very digestable, I much prefer this to Ghost Stories, which felt clumsy and directionless. I really don't like this album, but it has some iconic tunes and a cohesive feel. Also, Up In Flames is a big favourite of mine, a real highlight among the rest.

Whatevs, I dig it. It's probably their second-worst behind Ghost Stories

Meh. Not a great album but the tour was actually really good for this compared to ones before it, it was very good for theatricals. Really like Every Teardrop, frankly, and if Paradise wasn't so overplayed forever ago, I feel I'd really like that too. Major Minus is pretty cool too.

This and X&Y are my least favourites. Coincidentally the two of them bookended my favourite Coldplay record.

It has a few good tracks of course. And I actually am somehow still able to enjoy Paradise.
