Great pop album. Clever, catchy, punchy. It definitely contains some of Blur's most complex lyrics. The theme is consistent and quite deep: suburban midlife crises. Aside from the weak singles, the album as a whole holds up quite well.
I don't think it deserves half the criticism it gets.. _________________ "Everyone knows the moon's made of cheese."

If ever an LP proves what too much coke, stretching a conceptual idea for an album over 3 separate LPs and mixing with politicians can do, this is it. A pustule on the diseased corpse that was Britpop c.'95.
Thank fuck they saw the light and started writing songs for hockey arenas. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing

I don't know what I'd do without art about suburban midlife crises. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

An okay album. It lacks a really standout track IMO. But it's still decent. Best song: Country House

I tend to like albums mocking suburban life, but this one never really resonated with me. Some catchy bits in it, but well off their best work.

I love The Universal but I'm not really into the rest of it (or Blur's britpop period in general). I think they got a lot better with self-titled and 13. This is the worst of the Blur albums I've heard (everything except Leisure)
