These spring to mind:

Daily Operation by Gang Starr

Whut? Thee Album by Redman

Stunts, Blunts and Hip-Hop by Diamond D

Critical Beatdown by Ultramagnetic MCs

The Main Ingredient by Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth

Top class recs as always, been listening through them all, particularly digging the Organized Konfusion one.

Also been blasting through a few other things, a lot of which aren't on the site (will make my 2015 chart when I'm not bogged down with work), but here's a few things I've been digging:

Rusangano / Family by God Knows + MynameisjOhn

Fela Soul by Amerigo Gazaway

Triptych by The Hard Ground

Bella Bella by Skelocrats

Giving up on work for the night, been a long day and more to come tomorrow. I have got some of my favourite 'music scenes' in films stuck in my head before I go though (presumably related to me losing my mind).

Stuff like:

Scenes like this in films always just stick in my mind a bit better, there's just something about the use of music in scenarios like this that, for me, just work on so many levels. Is there room for a discussion on this? Maybe. Am I very sleep deprived right now? Most definitely. Is anyone even following my ramblings? Probably not.

Feel free to share some of your favourite scenes/call out my taste/throw me some sleeping pills or whatever.

I think stedicam shots in particular are especially good for this because they tend to be a little bit choreographed to the song, especially like in this one from kill bill

Perfect example, excellent call, stedicam shots do have a tendency to work quite well in this scenario, and speaking of Tarantino, here's another example of where music works so well with film.

Also picked up a DVD copy of this recently, couldn't resist as it was only 75 cent, collectors edition of some sort aswell apparently, but yeah, it's great.

4 day till I get my Christmas holidays and free time, weather's shite here though and they kicked us out all of uni early to put up the flood barriers.

Anyway, todays tunes included:

Infinite by Eminem
His best and the one I fuck with most. Open Mic is pretty great!

Rum, Sodomy, And The Lash by The Pogues
Fucking incredible obviously, almost bought a copy of Red Roses For Me on vinyl on the way home, but y'know, Christmas shopping money...

Curtis by Curtis Mayfield
Oh you all know it, one of the best things by anyone ever.

My music listening has gone completely off the rails over Christmas as I've been catching up on sleep/films and playing copious amounts of darts and Gears Of War. Gonna start stealing recs off all the charts from tomorrow again though so who knows what I'll find!

In the meantime...
This chart has gotten a long overdue update!
