My favourite Blur album! Modern Life is Rubbish is loaded with underrated britpop classics, including "Star Shaped", "Blue Jeans", "Miss America", "Oily Water", and "Coping". And "Chemical World" is one of the band's best singles. The US version also includes the phenomenal "Popscene".

Recently revisited Modern Life is Rubbish. Unfortunately it lost some of its touch over time. It was on my Top 100, but isn't any longer. Don't get me wrong, it's still a very good album. However, for all the tracks I love on this album (such as Advert, Sunday Sunday, and Resigned) there are tracks that either didn't hold up or are very forgettable (Pressure on Julian, Blue Jeans, and Miss America).
For Tomorrow is nothing special. For an opening track, you'd expect something better, catchier, more memorable. But hey, Track #2 Advert does that job just fine.
Resigned is an excellent closer (unless you count that unnecessary Commercial Break).
I also love that Intermission instrumental track. Sounds like something that should accompany a theme park ride, or a scene in a movie of bus full of people going downhill way too fast and completely out of control.
Modern Life is Rubbish is my #3 blur album. Parklife and Great Escape are better. _________________ on such a winter's day

This was a breath of fresh air upon it’s release which resulted in thousands of British kids up and down the country getting a hair cut and ditching their checked flannel shirts for a Fred Perry instead...Britpop was about to be born!!!
Played it over the weekend for the first time in ages and realised it was way too low in my rankings so gave it a decent bump.
