If it gave me a migraine it was a pleasant one. But yeah, nah, wasn't me.

Can totally understand why it's up your alley. Although to me it suffers from a severe case of schizophrenia, like it's this beautiful shoegaze/dream pop LP that's been trapped inside a PS2 and is trying to break out of its glitchy digital cocoon. Perhaps it's worth persevering with - I've taken some paracetamol now and got an ice pack on my brow, maybe that'll help... _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing

Well, I’ve always liked glitch and other similar experimental electronic soundscapes (hell one of my favorite post-rock albums plays a lot with glitch), so I think that’s why it resonates well to me. I don’t look at it like a shoegaze album, I look at it like a glitch album.

Thing is there's divine songcraft in there in abundance, and for me its the glitchy stuff that made me veer away from it after first listen. I guess it belongs in the same bracket as Loveless and Psychocandy for burying the songs underneath a wall of sonics, but whereas I got them both virtually straight away (admittedly I was a lot younger then with less hair in my ears) this didn't click first time. With painkillers in my system it's slowly starting to drip into my brain like some sort of aural morphine.
Oh, and I think "International" is now my favourite track. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing

That is one of the best descriptors I have ever read. Though I do understand getting a headache. I remember the first time I listen to this was when I had a headache. Then again, I need to listen to this album again. Been a while since I have listen to this all the way again. Will hopefully change that when I get Velocity Design Comfort on CD.

Thanks everyone for participating!
Now that the month is done, I've tallied up points totals from those who chose to re-rank the top ten in the thread. This includes Luigii's original top ten. Here is the collective re-ranking, with the original ranking breaking the ties:
1. To Pimp A Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar = 40 points
2. Velocity : Design : Comfort - Sweet Trip = 37 points
3. Geogaddi - Boards Of Canada = 37 points
4. The Age Of Adz - Sufjan Stevens = 34 points
5. Pop - Gas = 29 points
6. Virgins - Tim Hecker = 26 points
7. Medúlla - Björk = 21 points
8. California - Mr. Bungle = 18 points
9. The Mollusk - Ween = 18 points
10. Caracal - Disclosure = 15 points _________________ Add me on RYM

I had to come back to this forum to realize that this was the most active of the Month sessions. Was it because I kept this forum going by being active or did we have free time in April? Kinda curious.

Likely because yours was the first one pal. Hayden’s and mine only made it to page 2. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing
