this hasn't aged well, but i'd take it over those Coldplay / Interpol albums.

How about The Bravery?

i listened to their debut album once or twice after that mad single got mad airwaves, but i don't recall any of it, to be honest. is it worth revisiting?

I like to think of The Bravery as a faster, catchier version of The Killers. And I love The Bravery's self-titled debut. It probably isn't as good or consistent as Hot Fuss, however I revisit it much more frequently and happily. It also helps that The Bravery never got extremely overplayed on the airwaves, and extremely over-hyped by an annoying fan base.

I don't think it's just a coincidence that I revisited this album after I became a huge fan of Joy Division and New Order. Personally, I disagree with you guys, and I think that Hot Fuss HAS aged well. "All These Things That I've Done" is still one of my favourite songs of the 21st century, and I'm still bitter about "Jenny Was A Friend of Mine" never being released as a single. Obviously, the 2nd half of Hot Fuss can't compete with the 1st half, but I still really like "On Top" and "Change Your Mind".

The production feels somewhat flat, but the songwriting is definitely there. My thing with this album is that it's sequenced like shit. Otherwise, I'm into it.

Track picks
2. Mr. Brightside
5. All These Things That I've Done
6. Andy, You're A Star
7. On Top
9. Believe Me Natalie

This is like half a brilliant album and half mediocre. If they had managed to sustain the brilliance it would be one of the best albums of the decade. As it is it does have some excellent songs.

Somebody Told Me sucks, but otherwise agree 100%. Not a fan of the Killers but still better than Coldplay/Interpol
