I've gone off the Lips in recent years but they could do no wrong for a while. I like this album. There are a lot of good songs, particularly Lightning Strikes the Postman (great title) and the brilliant Bad Day (I need to put the lyrics to this up somewhere at work).
Being critical though, I slightly prefer Transmissions from the Satelite Heart for this period of Lips. I think Transmissions is just a bit wilder and more over the top, which is a good thing for the Lips. Clouds laid the ground nicely though for what came next.
Whatever happened to the other guitarist they had at the time (Ronald Jones)? He seemed to be really integral to this sound but then sort of disappeared out of the limelight I think?
