Easily one of the greatest debuts in history. Although Jimi's other two studio originals were also excellent, his first may still have been his best. This is also a rare example of a rock musician demonstrating both the pinnacle of soul and technical mastery.

Jimi Hendrix is the quintessential rock guitarist.
Incredible album. Masterpiece.
I agree with Fischman post- "Easily one of the greatest debuts in history."
although their are many hits - foxy lady, purple haze, i dont live today, manic depression, fire......for me,
red house is my personal favourite.
I really enjoy watching old video of jimi and his band playing. im in awe of his work.i find it captivating and mesmerizing, especially when he soloed the guitar with his teeth. the psychedelic superman in action!
Back in the late 60's, when this album came out, it must have been shocking/revolting for everyone to see this band
dressed in their freak out garb. Must've been an acids head dream.
