Not even close unless you enforce a “whites only” rule and exclude the work of whites in multiracial bands. Off the top, Rufus, Sly & The Family Stone, and Tower Of Power all easily defeat this in funkiness. And if you do use that sort of rule, there are multiple all-white bands who made straight-up funk as opposed to new wave with a funk influence. _________________ Add me on RYM
"new wave with a funk influence" is and always will be unfair doe. It is its own mix of afrobeat and glacial whoknowswhat. The album's a 10/10. It's just not the outright funk masterpiece some people claim it to be. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
