I do like some of the "unplugged" albums. Getting to hear acoustic interpretations of electric tunes sometimes yields interesting variety, pleasant surprises, and real freshness.

But this one just falls flat. Not a net positive on the Clapton legacy.

I like this album.

Ok it sounds a touch cheesy now but there are a few stand out tracks for me, whether its unhip to admit it or not.
I love his version here of Before You Accuse Me. That's my favourite track on here.

Now that I've admitted that, bang goes my street cred.
Heck, I like Ed Sheeran - my street cred went long ago. And I don't care!

Even though this albums is massively overrated in context of EC's discography, I still think it's a fine release with some good to great songs (Layla, Tears In Heaven, Runnin on Faith) and doesn't deserve as much shit as it gets from lots of folks. Probably a bit overlong and boringish in sections, but pleasant nonetheless.

If anyone gives you crap for liking something, especially if you have discovered music "for yourself", they likely don't understand that concept.

I too like this album. Heaven forbid I say it's his best actually... I feel like it's his most raw performance in many ways actually - not cheesy, just not overproduced studio work. I mean I'm not a huge fan of the dude to begin with, but I'd take this version of layla or really any of these tracks probably to their original. Easily best album of his... even if it's near the bottom of my list of great albums for me.

It might also be due to the fact that when this came out I was starting to get my own music identity kind of thing... remember seeing it on MTV, etc.
