Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.9/100, a mean average of 75.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.1.

@KGB dismissing a god like Clapton with a half-sentence "review" is the most pathetic, douche-hipster move I've ever seen. at least your name checks out, but man, fuck you.

If you're as big a fan as I am of Clapton, you will love this set. It's brilliant, and it really showcases his talent.

I don't think this is Clapton's best album, I prefer him with the electric. That being said, it is a solid and pleasant album with good singing and playing and Tears In Heaven is without a doubt one of most heartbreaking songs of all time.

I agree with the whole new generation thing... I wouldn't even care Clapton existed if it weren't for this album (well the singles that came from it).

First 7 songs are FANTASTIC and the remaining 7 songs I can start to see why people say it's boring. (Malted Milk probably being the best of the last 7).

This album served as a reinvention for Clapton that introduced him to a whole new generation of fans (myself included). The Unplugged versions of Layla and Tears in Heaven are almost as popular as the originals.

The album that pretty much redefined live albums. Every song here is completely unique an totally different from any previous version. If you could only own one clapton album, this should probably be it.

Great unplugged, with very nice songs like "Before You Accuse Me", "Tears In Heaven" and "Layla". However, sometimes it is a little bit boring.
