I only heard this for the first time 2 years ago but I thought it was a solid, beefy rock album.
I would give it 80%

One of the best AOR Hard Rock albums of all time. Their fame is well deserved. Their 2nd best after High N' Dry. they were never the same after this as they would pivot (quite successfully) to full on Pop Metal.

I was an 'MTV kid' - started watching from very soon after it went on the air. "Photograph' was a very popular video back then. I got the album as a gift and absolutely loved it. It's solid all the way through. I was very disappointed with the band's next album and pretty much gave up on them after that, but this one is still one of my favorites from the eighties.

Pretty much this. I used to listen to this band a lot as a kid and have been again over the last couple of years and surprised myself that I enjoy this one. It's right in the middle of the High n Dry (wonderful) sound and Hysteria (awful) sound. I've tried Hysteria a few times in recent years but can't take it. I can't say Pyromania is great but it's definitely an easy listen. Do check High N Dry though, an underrated hard rock classic before Lange was too much influence and the original and best guitar duo.
