Sinatra and Riddle outchea like Snoop and Dre. Could swim in this shit. Those string arrangements, that phrasing. I don't give a fuck about his brazen commercialism, the dude just smashes it. He's got that easy, 'I'm the best', Jay-Z swagger. This album has often soundtracked Saturday night into Sunday morning red wine and whiskey sessions with my dad. It's the best.

The first 12-inch album, and my very favorite album of the 50s (besides Art Blakey). A true classic, amazingly influential. And yes, it has not aged a minute!!!!!!
