So, I tried getting into this album over a decade ago--there was a music blog I followed called First World Problems, which introduced me to a bunch of music I ended up loving, that cited it as their favorite album of 2010--but it just wasn't my thing. Sometime last year, I decided to give it another go, and hooooooooooooly shit. This thing is incredible. One of the great albums of its decade, and one of the last purely rock records that could qualify as a classic. It's an absolute marvel of an album.

Totally agree with Holden. I absolutely love this album. I'm personally more partial to TA's The Most Lamentable Tragedy, but I can't deny that TMLT has a lot of filler and gets a bit turgid and grandiose. The Monitor is absolutely the place to start if you haven't listened to TA before.
"Tramps like us, baby we were born to DIE"
Folk punk? Heartland punk? Hard rock? Whatever you want to call Titus Andronicus, they know how to do it. If you don't listen to all of it, please at least give track 1 "A More Perfect Union" a shot. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
