It's a bit confusing to have Talk Talk straight after The The. I get them mixed up sometimes!

one of my all-time favorites. happiness is easy and living in another world are two of the perfect-est pop songs ever. that key change on the latter. this lyric is on the former:
Quote: | i try to teach my children to recognize excuse before it acts. |
i get a kick out of the sequence i don't believe in you on this record and i believe in you on the following record.
i go back and forth on which talk talk record is my favorite between this and spirit of eden. both are top fifteen albums for me. i suppose i take this record when i'm feeling upbeat and the other when i'm feeling subdued.
edit: ended up giving this a couple spins today in honor of the album of the day status. still brilliant.

I was child when 'It's My Life' was a famous song, I had no idea of who they were. Years later, I heard of Talk Talk and that they were the authors of such song. With time I came across Talk Talk again, this time in a progressive rock page where they have mentioned them. My interest grew after this mentioning and I listened to 'Spirit of Eden' and 'Laughing Stock'. I liked their music, very calm and jazzy sometimes. Then I got my first CD from Talk Talk, 'It's My Life', I liked it but there was something missing. Anyways, any chance I got I listened to the first other two albums. In England, I had the chance to get both albums and I was happy, very happy, indeed. But, in the record store where I got those albums I saw: THE COLOUR OF SPRING. I had no idea about what to expect. So, I got it. Boy, what a superb album. Since that moment 'The Colour of Spring' became not only my favorite album by Talk Talk but one of my all-time favorite albums ever in my entire collection. Probably in my top 10. Mark Hollis, my hero, what a genius.

I've never been particularly interested in Talk Talk, for some reason they never vibed with me, not even "It's My Life".
That said, this is my favorite of their albums that I've heard. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
