ZZ Top mixing their sound with new wave, which they had already tested on some previous albums, leads to a great success with this album. The 3 huge singles are all staples of rock radio still. I'm not sure if Eliminator is the album that ZZ Top should be remembered for because it isn't the best representation of the band's sound over the course of their career, but its an album that probably every rock music fan should hear.

That’s a pretty good summation I think. Certainly not my favourite Zz top album but it certainly has some great tracks and, very much on the back of mtv, introduced them to a much wider audience making them, arguably, the biggest band in the world at the time.
