A beautiful album that's almost unbearable to listen to, given David Berman's suicide not long after its release. It might as well be retroactively titled Why I Did It.
An excellent and, as previously mentioned, heartbreaking collection of singer-songwriter gems.
For as devastating as these songs can be, they’re written with such charm and class and wit. For as grey as this record can seem in retrospect, there are colors scattered all over these arrangements.
