Great album with many great moments even though their next album would be even better!

Not as good as their debut or the one after this, but decent.

The Bucket or Four Kicks would be the best moments for me.

I like this record. I haven't gotten around to comparing all of their records side-by-side so I don't know where this falls. What I always find fascinating about these guys is the antipathy that they stir up in some people. I don't see what's not to like let alone a reason for animosity. I don't really get the premise that their old stuff was amazing and the later stuff is garbage either. Maybe someone could enlighten me.

Personally I feel that they "did a U2", and began pandering to a stadium rock audience. I would say this is their third best album (after 'Youth and Young Manhood' and 'Because of the Times'), but their debut EP is still my favourite release.

And they released a clothing range Rolling Eyes and whilst Only By The Night was not terrible the subsequent releases have been really shit.
