Is it hard for you to compare two different genres? Example: some people leave jazz albums off their charts because it's difficult for them to compare them to rock albums. Do you do this with certain genres?

I understand how it can be hard, comparing apples to oranges, but that can possibly be solved with a certain question: which do you like more: the apple or the orange?

If you're getting all deep over which genre is more musically legitimate or which is better constructed, then you could be debating all day.

But ultimately, just decide which one you enjoy more - that's never hard to work out, and can always change.

Also, Oranges are by far the superior fruit.

Oranges are far better raw, but apples make better ingredients.

As for comparing genres, I find it no more difficult to compare jazz to rock than I do a Beatles album to a Radiohead album. Every artist reaches their own pinnacle, all I can do is compare the impact it has had on my life.

Sometimes I prefer apples to oranges. Sometimes I prefer oranges to apples. But what about red apples or green apples or bitter oranges or mandarins or apple juice or orange juice? There's no formula. I'll just go down to the greengrocer and see what takes my fancy. I might buy a avocado or some strawberries. You know what I mean?

I don't.

Honestly, I prefer pears. But on a good day, I could eat both an apple and an orange.

The apple orange thing was supposed to be a minor side topic... Laughing I hope this doesn't get moved to the lounge and we get back on the real topic.
