Oh yes, I love these kind of things(if executed well). The pitchfork classic albums video's are done extremely well, for instance, they usually make me appreciate the album in question more than I already do.
I'd love to see one on
The Glow pt2
In The Aeoplane Over The Sea
An Animal Collective album, although Sung Tungs or Feels would be the most interesting, from a recording standpoint.
Another Green World
Loveless
Laughing Stock or Spirit of Eden
In my opinion, the albums that deserve a Making of Documentary would be:
1. The Cure - Disintegration
2. The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
3. Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
4. Joy Division - Closer
5. Michael Jackson - Thriller
6. Gun N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
7. Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
8. Prince - Sign O' the Times
I've seen documentaries about the film of The Wall, and the live show of The Wall, but not one about the actual album yet. I'd like to see one that kinda combines all three just to show the impact of the album and everything surrounding it. _________________
I've always had an interest in seeing a making of for Emergency & I by The Dismemberment Plan. What went into crafting the lyrics and developing the melodies. _________________

This. I was really impressed with the two I've seen.
Anyway, albums I'd enjoy seeing:
pretty much anything Lee Perry produced at Black Ark Studio
Dizzee Rascal - Boy in da Corner
Wu-Tang - 36 Chambers
PiL - Metal Box
any Massive Attack album
pretty much anything Lee Perry produced at Black Ark Studio
Absolutely. The BBC have missed a trick not doing at least a 3 hour Perry retrospective.
As for LPs:
Husker Du - Zen Arcade. You're telling me a double album was recorded virtually all first take and mixed in 48hrs? Cripes. Something stronger than Red Bull responsible surely?
Spacemen 3/Spiritualized - everything up to Let It Come Down. I thinks drugs may have been involved at some juncture. As well as some in-fighting and the twat from The Verve nicking yer missus. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing Folk 'n Stuff SHAMELESS RECORD DEALER PLUG
Siamese Dream would be my first choice. Would love to see the process of making an album that big. Also Corgan was apparently quite the prick/control freak during the making of this one, so i'm sure the tension in the studio was pretty intense and would make for a good doc.
Electroshock Blues by The Eels would be another good one. It would be depressing without a doubt, but with everything E went through leading up to that album it would be fascinating to see what kind of roll the music played in the healing process.
Oh man I am obsessed with those. Hmm lets see which I think would be awesome. Just off my chart.
After the Gold Rush - Neil Young
In the Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson
Another Green World - Brian Eno
Parallel Lines - Blondie
Marquee Moon - Television
For Your Pleasure - Roxy Music
Love - The Cult
Hounds of Love - Kate Bush
Rain Dogs - Tom Waits
The Low End Theory - A Tribe Called Quest
Doggystyle - Snoop Dogg
Here's Little Richard - Little Richard _________________
