I hate to pimp a money making venture, but having unlimited access to music for $10 a month seems crazy. When I was in college in the 1970s, two new albums cost about $10.

Any other Spotify users out there?

Wait what? $10 a month? Man, mine's free ... I've never run out of minutes or anything, is that a thing?

If you pay, you get rid of the ads and can listen on your phone.

Also, for$10, you can download albums to your phone. That way, you don't have to use bandwidth when listening to music where there is no Wi-Fi.

The most important reason you'd want to pay, is that you steam in 320kps(Best quality you can get) instead of 96 or 160(Just plain terrible). So if you don't pay you're basically listening to music in trash quality. OR you could just pay 0$ a month and get all the music you want, in any format or quality you want.

I notice no difference between the month of premium I got after reccing a friend and everything since then. Is the quality really that bad?

Yep. Being a music nerd used to be either ridiculously expensive or illegal. Now is pretty great.

The difference between 320 and 96 is like the difference between listening on a nice stereo system, and on stock ipod earbuds.

Well, spotify sounds as nice on my harman/kardon speakers as a CD does. That said, I may be getting 160 kbps, IDK how to check
