- Post subject: Your # 1 album on the overall chart historically - today
|
Just discovered this neat feature on the overall chart: by setting to the "Show this chart as it was on the following date" to a past date you can see the past positions of your favorite albums in the overall chart. So, I set the date to 01/12/2013 (a year ago today) and checked out the position of my all time favorite album (Forever Changes). I am happy to say that it was one of the best "performers" moving from position # 77 to position # 60. How about your #1 album?
BEA # 60 (a year ago: BEA #77). !7 spots up the overall chart!

Click on the "Overall" tab. In the "View chart at point in time" section enter the past date. The chart displays as it was on that date. You will have to look for your album "manually" throughout the chart or you may be lucky enough to see your album(s) in the "Overall chart chart changes" section at the bottom.

Origin of Symmetry has gone down three places, from 120 to 123, which is quite boring, to be honest.
However, I found out that The Meadowlands has increased from 1,155 to 851, moving up 304 places, which is excellent. Although, this is still around 850 places too low.

I started using the forums regularly in May 2012, so I had a look at the chart on the first of that month and looked at how far my Top 5 had improved since I've begun extolling the virtues of those albums around here.
My #1 album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) by Wu-Tang Clan has climbed 33 places in that time, from 163rd to 130th. On an extremely similar trajectory, my #3 album If You're Feeling Sinister by Belle & Sebastian has climbed 38 places from 166th to 128th, both having picked up over 4,000 rank points each in that time. There really isn't much point in factoring in my #4 album, More Gregory by Gregory Isaacs, as it wasn't in the Top 10,000 back in May of 2012 (and I'm not sure it was even on the database), but it now sits at #3,818th, thanks largely to mine and drakonium's charts. More impressively, my #2 album (and longtime #1), Clouds Taste Metallic by The Flaming Lips, has climbed a massive 419 places since May 2012, from 1187th to 768th (picking up just shy of 1,000 rank points in the process), whilst my #5 album, Untrue by Burial, has climbed 260 places, from 724th to 464th, now sitting inside the Top 500 and with almost 2,000 rank points more, giving it nearly triple the amount it had in May 2012. #trendsetter
