Which 5 albums do you believe are an essential listen for any member of BEA, not because they're necessarily the greatest albums, but because they have a strong cult following almost exclusively here on BEA.

Which 5 albums define BestEverAlbums.com to you?

SinginPeasant96 is right but I don't agree with VU&N it's more like this:

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel

Loveless - My Bloody Valentine

Pink Moon - Nick Drake

Funeral - Arcade Fire

Kid A - Radiohead

Hm ... I've definitely seen a lot of Pink Moon and Arcade Fire praise elsewhere, I don't think that's really unique to us. I guess these aren't either, I just think they're a little MORE unique

Hospice by The Antlers
In The Aeroplane Over the Sea by we've seen this a billion times come on you know this
Loveless by MBV
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco
In The Court Of The Crimson King by King Crimson

Quote:
In 2003, The Queen Is Dead was ranked number 216 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.[14] In 2006 it was named the second greatest British album of all time by NME.[15] In 2006, Q magazine placed the album at #3 in its list of "40 Best Albums of the '80s".[16] UK-based magazine Clash added The Queen Is Dead to its "Classic Album Hall of Fame" in its June 2011 issue, saying it "is an album to lose yourself in; it has depth, focus and some great tunes. It's easy to see why the album is held in such high esteem by Smiths fanatics and why, a decade later, it became a key influence for all things Britpop."[17] In 2012, Slant magazine listed the album at #16 on its list of "Best Albums of the 1980s" saying "There may never again be an indie-rock album as good as The Queen Is Dead".[18] In 2013 The Queen Is Dead was was ranked the greatest record of all time on NME Greatest Albums of All Time list.

I can see why you would get them mixed up, but the band is King Crimson, not Crimson King. I disagree with this choice anyway.

Sorry, fixed that, thanks. Too early for me to be multitasking, apparently.

Also, I thought about it and ended up including it. I know it has fans elsewhere, and it still gets some acclaim, but to me at least (this is my OPINION you may disagree), it doesn't seem to get as much of a "cult following" elsewhere. While it was reviewed well, in my quick googling I couldn't actually find any non-genre specific "best of lists" anywhere with it but for here.

I was thinking of the RYM Top Albums where it is ranked #7.

Interesting. To me, In the Court of the Crimson King feels relatively unloved on this site compared to other places (excluding Rolling Stone). Anyway, idk if I can pick 5, but Pink Moon, In the Aeroplane over the Sea, and Loveless would definitely be on there, imo.
