A strong effort by Civil Twilight. Nothing groundbreaking, but a very enjoyable listen. You can definitely hear their influences (Radiohead, U2 and even Muse), but I don't know why, I really like this album, even though it isn't particularly original. It's the intangibles that get me. I think it really works as an album.
"Oh Daniel" and "Holy Dove" are the standout tracks. "Love Was All That Mattered" is a perfect way to close the album.
The tone of "Story Of An Immigrant" is a lot more optimistic than on "Holy Weather", which was another good album, but very different.
