Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.6/100, a mean average of 69.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.4.

If there is a duo that can boast of longevity, it's Matmos. The San Francisco duo remains in their element with their experimental electro and original for two decades. This year, they return with their eleventh record named "Plastic Anniversary". Each album is dedicated to a sound or a universe. And as the title of the album indicates, Matmos devotes a cult to the plastic and it is not a coincidence if "Plastic Anniversary" is rich in plastic sounds. The crazy brains of MC Schmidt and Drew Daniel (and no one else) work and offer us experimental pieces ranging from the introduction of "Breaking Bread" to glitch-like looks to "The Singing Tube" and percussion "Interior". With Billiard Balls & Synthetic Fat, "" Extending The Plastiphere To GJ237b "and other" Thermoplastic Riot Shield "where all plastic objects are heard. After a crazy first part, the second part of Plastic Anniversary is darker with "Silicone Gel Implant" and "Fanfare For Polyethylene Waste Containers". Like the cacophonic carnival of "Collapse Of The Fourth Kingdom", Matmos offers us a completely incongruous disc ending on the sounds of Velcro, plastic bags and straw. With them, plastic is fantastic.
8/10
Best track: "Silicone Gel Implant"
Ross Geller's actual album. Dear me, definitely not my thing.
