Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.1/100, a mean average of 77.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.8.

A fantastic record whose influence cannot be understated. Tracks have been covered by CCR, Captain Beefheart, George Thorogood, and many more. The Bo Diddley beat features in so many pop songs that it’s ingrained in musical culture forever.

Classic tracks covered by every possible guitar player and band during the past 64 years

'Bo Diddley', 'I'm a Man', and 'Who Do You Love' are some pretty great highlights. Not necessarily the greatest of the Rock n' Roll generation, but this still holds up as a pretty good record overall.

Great rock and roll album I appreciate it very much. This is the invention of a great era.
This album was a huge influence an all rock music that followed. Tracks on this album covered thousands of times by such artits as the Rolling Stones, Clapton, CCR and many, many more. Even Buddy Holly in his short prolific career. Hell the Pretty Things based a whole carrer on this album.
best tracks: bo diddley, diddy wah diddy

Who Do You Love and Bo Diddley are probably best tracks.
I like Muddy Waters' version I'm A Man better (Mannish Boy). I heard some influence the Rolling Stones maybe picked up from Bring It To Jerome.
Next to Chuck Berry, this is one of the greatest early rock n roll albums out there. A classic!

If you're a rock fan and haven't listened to this yet, do so as soon as you can. At times, this almost sounds like a documentary on African music- just listen to "Hush Your Mouth". But this is also the origins of hard, garage, and psychedelic music we all love, and much of that has to do with McDaniel's creative lyricism.
The true king of rock n roll
