Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 81.9/100, a mean average of 81.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.0.

The combination of trumpet, sax and piano on this record is deadly. All three put in incredible performances across the whole album which makes for a consistently fantastic listen. They combine the best on the first 2 tracks which is 18 minutes of pure jazz brilliance that I fell in love with right from the first time I heard it. The final 2 tracks are close behind with them being fantastic as well. However, I never really got the middle song and I always thought it didn't suit the album very well. I wouldn't say it is a bad song but just a little bit out of place and it does suck you out of the album. With that being said the rest of the music is so good that it makes me forget about that slower section. Overall, the compositions are beautiful, the performances are amazing and the whole record is a joy to experience.
Beautiful and interesting jazz compositions, excellent playing.
A huge jazz Classic.
A Miles Davis album in disguise, this is some good Jazz to listen to on a rainy day.
Basically, this is a Miles album--he takes the first solo on most of the tracks, wrote the title track, and the arrangements of the standards on side one especially just sound like your typical mid-50s Miles Davis thing. Cannonball does take the lead on the last couple of tracks. Not that it matters. It's just weird--you say "Wow, Miles is a sideman on this album, that's sort of unusual..." and then you listen and you say, "Oh, no he isn't." At any rate, it's a very good album, whoever was in charge.
Aula de jazz e performance!
Tight compositions from an all-time alto sax player
Every instrument wonderfully knows exactly where they want to take you.
I'm not generally an alto fan, but this album made me a believer. Adderley was the master of the alto and this is his finest work. The ensemble are tight and lay down jazz that is hot, cool and swinging. Two big thumbs up.
You gotta check out this chill-ass motherfucking album over here.
