The Flesh Eaters have been around incredibly since 1977 and are best known for the 1981 platter 'A Minute to Pray a Second to Die'. Original founder Chris D (Chris Desjardins) is still at the helm creating the bands morbid sound best described as "Death Rock"
2019's 'I Used To Be Pretty' is a nice enough effort which contains no fewer than 3 cover tracks: (1) "The Green Manalishi" ( Fleetwood Mac 1970) , (2) "Cinderella" (Sonics 1965) and personnel album highlight the excellent cover of the wonderful track (3) "She's Like Heroin To Me" (Jeffery Lee Pierce / Gun Club) . The album also contains a re-worked and beefed up version of the Flesh Eaters track "Miss Muerte" which originally appeared on their previous album 2004's 'Miss Muerte'
The fact that this band are still making relevant musical statements in 2019 is truly remarkable . One of Rock and Roll's great survivors
