Savatage reached their mountain top with this one. The absolute peak was in my opionion "Gutter Ballet" but the Hall of the Mountain King was only a little bit behind.
Vocals, Guitar, Mix, Production, ... everything could hardly be better.
Great Title Track, nice Prelude and idea. White Witch is my second favorite song, should also be the fastest song of Savatage and maybe the fastest that was out there in 1987 in Metal also ...
24hrs ago and The Price you pay are the two next greatest songs on the record followed by Devastation+Prelude , Legions and the rest.
Savatage found their 'sound' on this classic album. The album from start to finish is filled with screaming vocals, loud guitars, great production and melodies.
