An uninitiated and unexposed listener gets a clue what this disc has in store for him/her immediately upon opening up the case of this Australian import cd. As the liner notes written by the Velvet Janes declare "To Ani DiFranco, because of your story, we have the courage to write our own." This disc features muscular guitar based (both acoustically and electric) rock and roll that reveals exuberant energy and talent among the pair of Rose Farrow and Martine Locke who together comprise The Velvet Janes. An additional highlight that this listener enjoyed was the harmonic blending of the vocals of these two women. I was uplifted after completing my listening experience and look forward to delving further into this pair's output.
