Lesley Gore comes across as a totally whining bitch on this compilation, released by Mercury Records in 1987. What is exhibited here is the industry's ability to repeatedly beat a horse dead when a formula shows evidence of working. Lesley had a big hit with "It's My Party" right out of the gate - then proceeded to release song after song after song after song after song after song after song crying about unfaithful dudes who got ensnared in her unconfident, paranoid clutches. For 22 months (documented here in blow by blow 2 minute ditties) she went on and on spinning out the same self-esteemless pity trips of self-loathing. Damn what a spineless bitch!
