The first solo album by B-52s member, Fred Schneider, perpetuates the funky dance beats of his band of origin, supplemented ably by the work of Bernie Worrell and Kate Pierson in a "guest" capacity. Released in 1991 at the height of B-52 mania, following the success of "Love Shack", this album on Reprise Records (Cat#: 9 26592-2) was a minimal success at the time. The lead track "Monster" establishes the tone of all that follows, with tongue firmly planted in cheek, it tells the tale of a Monster in Fred's pants (footnoted in the liner notes as a dinosaur borrowing the aforementioned article of clothing, instead of "what some dirty minded people would have you think").The fun continues throughout. A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
