To polished for me.
The overall sound of “Red Moon in Venus “feels very indebted to 90’s Neo soul. Uchis' vocals in particular sound like Sade in the “Love deluxe” era. Similar to the previous “Sin miedo”, the album suffers a bit from track uniqueness. With the exception of “Moonlight”, most tracks could be switched around and the changes wouldn’t be noticed. However, the thematic separation of the first and second halves really adds to the appeal. Hearing devotional love turn into the complex feeling of a break up is a fantastic contrast. Limitations aside, “Red Moon in Venus” is rich and well performed. A nice half step up.

A solid and efficient album, in the continuity of what we already knew from Kali Uchis, but for the moment it suits perfectly the expectations, hoping that she manages to recycle her formula for the next project
