Released in 1998 on the now defunct UK label Dressed To Kill (Cat#: DTKBOX100) this eclectic four disc box set covers a variety of music styles under the auspices of the theme 'Mods v Rockers', but there is an equal dose of sixties soul, British Northern soul, and country here too. The packaging is sparse and the liner notes are non-existent. What you get is some of the best 60s music back to back to back. Although the cover tells users they'll get "Eighty Classic Hits", in reality there are only 72 tracks, some live like Chuck Berry's 'Nadine'. One of the highlights of the first disc is a driving version of "Ride The Pony" by Lee Dorsey. Elsewhere listeners are treated to a song by The Beatles "Cry For A Shadow" and a Jimmy Page solo outing "Little Girl How Old Are You". It's an interesting listen all through the set.
