I see everyone saying this gets better with each listen, so I anticipated my opinion will only improve over time. With that being said, I really enjoyed it as a first impression.

Everyone agrees that after a few listens, this is the best album of 2023.

The whimsical, folksy, and at times haunting PJ comes to the fore here. It’s melodically beautiful and a captivating listen. I prefer this to Let England Shake.

Ethereal and brilliant. PJ Harvey pulls off the trick of sounding unlike anything else she has released, but distinctively her.
