Released in 1998 on Savoy Records (Cat#: CY-18088) this late era recording finds the jazz singer, who had stints with Benny Goodman, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington, tearing up a variety of old and new classics all written by women. There's album opener "Spider Web" which is a trip inside Ray Charles head, The title track with it's sinewy strains, and Billie Holiday's "God Bless The Child". Throughout one marvels at the passion and uniqueness of Ennis' voice and inflections. A true treasure. Authenticated on discogs.com

A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
