“Soft Landing” is somber and concentrated. Melodies start in the background and slowly make their way to the center of the sound. Little touches like the sound of water or birds give it that extra touch. “Real Life” has these wonderful pulling strings that fill the song. Each one sounds like its moving a thousand tons. The vocals are in the same range for the most part but thrive in the emotional aspect. They make every word feel like it’s an important statement. There is, however, a great similarity between the tracks that is limiting. A deviation in sonic texture or lyrics would enhance what is already good.
