"Ambient techno" may seem like a contradiction in terms, but these guys (a duo from Rome, Italy) seem to actually pull it off. Clocking in at 90 minutes total (with an extra 14-minute piece in the 10th anniversary edition), each track consists of several minutes of a repeating pulsebeat and bass pattern beneath synth pads and random sound effects that are essentially pure ambient. The results are somehow both relaxing and body-motivating at the same time, perfect for playing in the background during a tantric-sex session, or maybe just preparing a dinner recipe that involves lots of vegetable-slicing. (Which, for some of us, really just amounts to the same thing.) Just be careful not to get hypnotized by it, because obviously then they'll have have total power over you and might make you actually buy the record.
Stunning piece of ambient techno that's slipped under the radar for most people. Highly recommended!
