Edison's Children has been attempting to achieve the perfect album; Intensity that boils up from the beginning to the end. Their first attempt "In The Last Waking Moments..." aka their first album was an excellent start. Dusk begins with simple bongos and magically weaves its way through to the finale "The Awakening". Their second attempt "The Final Breath Before Novemeber" saw us go from extraterrestrial to supernatural. The cohesiveness was far more apparent as the songs in the 67 minute Silhouette were haunting and beautifully interweaved throughout in a much better way than ITLWM. It may not have had the "Singles" and was much darker than their previous album but you could see this is where they were destined for. The addition of Neil Armstrong's son Rick Armstrong on album 3 brought some shakeups but their 4th Double LP "The Disturbance Fields" finally on Vinyl (180g) was as close to perfection since Trick of The Tail or Close To The Edge. The Disturbance Fields now fully incorporating the son of the First Man on the Moon was their most cohesive Concept Album to date and from beginning to end everything aligned like an interplanetary parade. It was exciting, epic and downright mind-blowing array of instrumentation and Eric Blackwood's best vocal performance which quieted any detractors. A rare 100 out of 100. Now if only they could put albums out quicker than once every 7 years. That said, it is worth the wait (Edited)
