"WOOF."s instrumentals are cleverly unexpected. The additions of horns or choruses to the electronics give it an almost biblical feel. The maniac intensity on "Vigilante" really sets up the album. The vocals reinforce this with, Love shout singing his sentiments like his life depends on it. Despite all the build-up, it never hits full throttle. Each track feels like the one before the album really kicks into gear. It doesn't hit the finish line, but it certainly races.
