Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.2/100, a mean average of 72.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.8.

Released same year as Visions, both records ahead of their time. It's like if Bjork produced electropop. Hope to add more comments soon.
'Shrines' is an excellent electronica album that features heavy use of synths and dark, enticing lyrics. I appreciate that it includes a strong closing track that perfectly rounds out the album. In addition, the song 'Fineshrine' is incredibly catchy and I love the eerie lyrics. The album has a unique, ominous vibe to it that is intriguing. The dark and imaginative cover art definitely fits the tone of the album.
In my opinion, the best tracks are 'Fineshrine,' 'Obedear,' and 'Shuck.'
8/10
It's okay.
The two big things going for this album is its length and unique sound Purity Ring provides. I wouldn't say this album is a great album, but it is a strong one. I'm going to go ahead and give it a 9 out of 10 just because even though I probably won't come back to it in 20 years, it is innovating and exciting enough to capture my attention. Fineshrine is the best track and is absolutely fantastic!
This album is very synth-heavy, vocal-light and compressed. It feels extremely insular. There are effects warping the instrumentals creating a clostrophobic mood with the female lead singer's voice desperately chirping amidst tinny dubstep to be free.
An interesting new take in electronic slowed down dubstep. Works perfectly well in Lofticries, Belispeak, and Ungirthed I am looking forward to the next release see where this goes
There's this 'rap' part in Grandlove that I thought was really cool. A full album of that might be really interesting. The production actually reminded me of the new Frank Ocean album, but Shrines was messy sometimes. An ok album. 60/100
