Her sixth solo album, this one is — most of the time — more pop-oriented and keyboard-driven than her earlier stuff, so it's more in keeping with her last LP, 2023's Love As Projection. There are also some semi-ambient passages strewn about though, and "atmospheric" saxophones and vocal bits too, but that's not really a bad thing here — I like the stylistic diversity, and her voice is perfect for this material, with just enough of a dark edge to (hopefully) satisfy all those people like me who might never have discovered her if it hadn't been for that song-for-song remake of The Cure's Seventeen Seconds she did back in 2017.
