Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 11% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.6/100, a mean average of 71.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.1.

Another indie band making ethereal music to please critics and provide soundtrack tracks for teen vampire shows. I like it enough, it's nice, but do we honestly need more of this?

It tumbles and turns, I'll give it that. It is like being inside your favorite washing machine. Although... you wouldn't want to be inside a washing machine. No room to swim. This album is a pleasurable one and a bit on the quiet side. Like being in the void and watching tiny pin pricks overhead. They maybe atomic fire but it sure isn't reaching you here. Calm. Tracks like 'Know Me' and 'Had We Had It' with their keyboard massage are... good. Hmm... 'Gospel/Grace' has the only distinctive music passage on the album and what I would call 'very good'. The rest... well not much words. It is something you would listen to and let grow across your mind. There really is nothing worth reporting if take the songs individually but as a whole it works nicely. Nicely... Nice... that would be a nice word for this album.
