Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 83.6/100, a mean average of 83.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 85.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 19.1.

Love this game to death and the music is amazing. Konji Kondo is a genius. This ost proves it.
Memorable stuff! Not quite on par with some of the great JRPG soundtracks, but it's still damn catchy and atmospheric.

The greatest video game soundtrack ever. (Majora's Mask is there, too - let's just say this counts for both of them.) The meaning of nostalgia. Koji Kondo was brilliant. Might not be the best to listen to sequentially, but if you play the game, you'll take it in and love it. Forest Temple music is tops.

Amazing soundtrack to what is arguably the greatest game of all time. Deserves all the praise it gets.

Iconic

I don't feel this should be rated as an album as a whole, because it isn't one. It's a soundtrack, meaning you need to have played the game to appreciate it. I do feel that, as far as video game music goes, it doesn't get much better than Koji Kondo. But yeah, don't try to listen to this sequentially, it makes as much sense as listening to Tommy on shuffle.

yeah, i wouldn't listen to this album sequentially, it's good to just pick and choose from the individual themes.. and this game featured heavily in my childhood too. best single player game i've ever played.. and i do love a bit of goldeneye multiplayer too..
Listened to the first few tracks, I could never get through the whole thing, I'd rather play the game. It's very nostalgic for me; this game was my childhood.

i disagree.. the quality of the themes is, if anything, beatle-esque.. who cares if it's instrumental computer-game music? the beatles never changed my life
