There's a part of me that thinks Great Lake Swimmers can never improve on the recorded-in-a-silo vibe of their debut. But I can't begrudge an artist for not wanting to sound like Sun Kil Moon forever. New Wild Everywhere continues the band's evolution into straightforward folk-pop, not out of place in a playlist with Bon Iver or Fleet Foxes.
