Never been able to enjoy this one. Who needs information is my favourite. His weakest of the 1st four solo albums. (Edited)
Another effort from Roger with another bit of concept - appears to be some kinda protest about the government and big business through the eyes of Billy, a disabled Welsh boy. Roger isn't everyone's cup of tea and many won't like mixing politics so overtly with music but put it aside and you have quite an accessible album by Rogers standards.
"My least-hated, favourite fish would be sole
That way you don't have to see the eyes" - who else write's lyrics like this?
This for me is Roger Waters best solo output. Good vocals, I like the way the drums are recorded, punchy and sat correctly in the mix with generally some nice musicianship throughout. 'The Tide is Turning' is the standout track.
