A surprisingly strong album coming from a very alternative band. This was definitely a high-water mark for Throwing Muses. Even years after first listening to the album, I can still remember entire songs. Definitely one of the most original records I've ever heard. 9.5/10! (Edited)
A great album that is almost a Muses and Belly collaboration as ‘Not Too Soon’ and ‘Honeychain’ would fit on any Belly release and this album would see the departure of Tanya Donnelly to form that band, those two songs don’t really fit on here as they are very mainstream pop especially Not Too Soon and the (step) sisters obviously went in different directions musically and we are very fortunate that they did as we got lots more great music!
